Ammonite piece

Here is a pendant I made using an Ammonite Fossil. I did peyote stitch for the beaded bezel and used some shammy leather on the back which I got in the auto parts department. I will probably re-string the "chain" as it is a bit boring-but I wanted to wear it to work tomorrow.

I start off with lacys stiff stuff which I glued to the back of the ammonite---I did cut a hole in the stiff stuff to accomodate the fat part and let it protrude though. The I did my first row of beads-not peyote style---then trim to the edge and afterwards I glue the leather to the stiff stuff and sew it onto edge of the stiff stuff. The leather is soft and looks nicer and covers the back well.
